There are many choices when it is time to choose an RC car frame. You can choose from fiberglass, Lexan, Traxxas, or PVC. The material that you use will be dependent on your budget and the desired effect. Plastic parts can be attached to the body using another option. Plastic parts are more durable than Lexan and Fiberglass, but it is worth noting. You want the best results so make sure you use only the best materials.

Lexan

It is important that you choose the right paint if you plan to paint your Lexan RC car. You'll need to clean your body first if you choose to use cheaper paint. To sand down the body, you can use sandpaper. Brillopads are another option if fine sandpaper is not available to you. These pads are usually less expensive than sandpaper, but they work just as well.

Fiberglass

You have many options if you are looking to build a fiberglass RC body. One of the most sought-after plastics is polycarbonate (also known as Lexan). This plastic is specifically synthesized to withstand extreme temperatures. Most RC car bodies can be made by vac-forming Lexan onto a mold. Lexan is a type of strong plastic called polycarbonate sheeting. General Electric introduced Lexan in the 1960s. This plastic is still the most used.

Traxxas

You can make your RC vehicle look more modern by changing the Traxxas RC Body to a different design or style. A body can be used for a different RC car brand. The body must fit perfectly to your car. In that case, it can be hard to change it. There are two types of RC car bodies.

PVC

You need to be careful when selecting a PVC RC RC car body. To ensure the correct fit of your body, measure your vehicle before buying. The dimensions of the body will vary between manufacturers. If your car is 1:10 scale, the body will fit. If the body does not fit, it may be necessary to adjust the dimensions. You can get different body sizes to customize the vehicle.
